ED is commonly treated with prescription medications, vacuum pumps, and surgery. Though, there are men who prefer to try natural remedies first before standard treatments. Previous research has proved these natural remedies help with ED.
Panax Ginseng
This herb is also known as the natural version of Viagra. During 2008, researchers conducted a study on red ginseng and ED. Their conclusion shows that this ginseng does rectify ED. A typical dosage used during this study was 600 to 1,000 milligrams three times a day.
Individuals with high lipids in their blood and metabolic syndrome seemed to benefit the most. Panax ginseng has anti-inflammatory properties, and it helps improve lung functioning and improve blood flow.
Rhodiola Rosea
A small study was conducted on 26 men, and they were given 150-200 mg of rhodiola each day for three months. These men reported improved sexual function. This herb also increases energy levels and decreases fatigue. Though, further studies need to be conducted to make sure this herb is safe.
DHEA
This supplement is a natural hormone produced by the adrenal glands. This supplement can be converted to either estrogen or testosterone in the body. It is manufactured with yam and soy. This is an ideal option for men with diabetes and ED because diabetes interferes with blood flow.
L-Arginine
This amino acid helps make nitric oxide which relaxes the blood vessels. Relaxed blood vessels leads to successful erection. The recommended dosage is 5 mg per day.
Acupuncture
There were a few studies conducted with acupuncture to determine its effectiveness on ED. The study in 1999 stated 39% of participants reported improved erections and overall sexual activity. A study in 2003 reported 21% of ED patient reported the same results.
Yohimbe
This supplement is made with the bark from the African yohimbe tree. Some research shows this drug has a positive impact on ED. Though, the American Urological Association does not recommend yohimbe as a sound treatment for ED because more studies need to be conducted.
